It makes me want a story, but there isn't one (yet) The art style and characters (who look like individuals, not just 'units') makes me expect at least a rudimentary fantasy story. I would also add a couple more things to the battle tutorial that weren't obvious to me: point out the reset button, whose characters are whose (mention the color coding), and where your currently active battles show up. I would also give a little introduction to the default characters (when the player opens the character page for the first time) what their strengths and weaknesses are, and how they might be best used. If it were my game, I would at a bare minimum point out (as mentioned above) more clearly what each game mode does, with basically a couple words about why it's great and why the player should try it. Current tutorial isn't enough There's always a tricky balance between giving too much tutorial and giving too little, however I think your game absolutely needs more tutorial than it currently has. And that brings me to a part of the solution for this problem: 2. I needed to know why I should play the challenges (hone your skills with pre-set characters!), why the 'quick match' was awesome (play against your friends and test your characters!), and why I should explore the world map (use your characters to advance through the world of Almasy!). However, this was long after I would have normally quit if I wasn't testing this game. Eventually I figured out that I already had battles open, and I figured out what the game modes meant and how they worked. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and ended up clicking around randomly, signing myself in to two battles without realizing it, and not being able to do anything since there's a two battle limit. However, once I finished the tutorial I was completely lost. The player needs a goal The battle tutorial is really good at what it does - it's a clear and concise introduction to the basics of battle. I think that's because of a combination of a few things: 1. However as kicktheken already pointed out somewhat, the game at this point doesn't draw me in and make me want to play for a long time. Hey there, This is certainly a project with a lot of complexity and a ton of potential for awesome and fun gameplay.
